MEET SHARECE
I WAS A NEW COLLEGE GRAD IN THE MIDST OF A RECESSION, AND NO ONE WAS HIRING
My story begins in 2010 as I was faced with a decision and opportunity to pivot.
I had spent the previous years earning a degree in Industrial Engineering at Georgia Tech, being an active student-leader, and making connections with corporate recruiters. I found myself with a world-class degree, all kinds of awards, accolades, and connections, and none of them were hiring. It hit hard, but I also saw this as an opportunity to explore my creative side.
Soon after, I found a mentor who supported me in starting my first graphic and web design business. I realized I loved collaborating with entrepreneurs to bring their visions to life.
But as quickly as I got off the ground, I burned out just as fast. So in 2012, I moved from Atlanta to Washington, DC, and received an MFA in Interior Architecture and Design. Upon graduation, I had the privilege of working at some of the top architecture firms in the world on 7- to 9-figure corporate, institution, education, and healthcare design projects. Of course, life happened in between. I married my college sweetheart, Jared, and we moved back to our hometown of Atlanta.
Fast forward to the beginning of 2020, I landed my dream job in design strategy and consulting for a Fortune 100 company, merging my engineering and design backgrounds, but as the pandemic hit, we shifted to work from home, offices closed, and I was laid off.
Faced with yet another pivotal decision ten years later…
I saw this as my opportunity to go full-time in my design business
Through each stage of my journey, I’ve realized that I love the stories and people behind the designs. I love being by their side when they feel the momentum shift from dream to reality as they see themselves through elevated design. I love seeing the confidence, peace, and excitement take over as they begin thriving in their zone of genius while having design support in the background. These are the moments I love and why I use my creative gifts to serve founders and entrepreneurs.
